Welcome to the official website of Nicholas Maietta, a well seasoned freelance website programmer. My website project is actively under construction as I write much of the software that will automate this website as much as possible.
I perform work relating to the Perl language in the Unix/Linux environment. In 1998, I began my journey into building websites that use CGI scripts to provide a tailored experience to each website visitor. Today, I develop web based applications to replace the dependency of traditional software applications.
The technologies that today's hottest websites are built on are the toys in my sandbox. Many of these technologies include heavy use of XML w/XSL, Apache on Unix, Classic Perl, Ruby on Rails and of course Ajax. In the near future you can revisit this website to find tutorials and ideas, work arounds and other tidbits of helpful or useless information about these technologies.

As this website is assembled (using software that I am writing), the sections ofthis website will start to come online, including "Guru's Brainstorms", "Code Repository", "The Portfolio" and more. My website project is a major undertaking and is being designed to show off all my skills as an advanced website develoepr. Unfortunately, keeping up with WC3 and RFC standards means that I must do a lot of cross browser and OS testing before each set of features of the website are successfully rolled out... taking time away from the core of the project.
One of several sections of this website will be devoted entirely to publishing my source code repository. Everything in this codebase is open-source, under the GPL (General Public License).
